Day 3

Hi Gang...

Day 3...

I awoke to the strains of the Star Spangled Banner this morning at a little past 8... It was 11 Tosh's time and she could not stand it any longer so she called... I really was nearly awake, just having a hard time crawling out of the warm sleep sack... No propane so no coffee ... Wait, I have that super Cousin Art travel brewer that Ann Hocher gave me for my trip out here 3 years ago... It worked great and I soon was on the road back to Medford with two full travel mugs of Starbucks House Blend...

Arrived early at the car repair joint and they got me in early... Rolled out of there slightly after 11 with a new CV joint and headed towards Klamath Falls on route 140... First stop was at a town called Lakeview for gas, propane, and a few groceries... Next stop, High Desert and my beloved wild donkeys... Crossed 5 passes so far: 5100', 5100', 5300', 5800', and 6200'... I stopped at around 7 PM at a Hang Glider / Paraglider launch site on a ridge above the Guano Valley... I am at approximately 6280' in the high desert near the Nevada border on route 140... Probably not another soul within 50 miles any direction and save for my candle and the wind, not a sound to be heard or a light to be seen...

I have marginal analog cellphone here if I climb a small hill but will not be able to post this note until I get back near civilization... You all take care and have fun... Time for me to pack it in early, and listen to the Cyotes...

Keep-em-Flying,

Bruce...
